  • Our Skills & Services

Slating and Tiling, Insulation and Felting

Traditionally used for roofing for hundreds of years, most of the slate mined throughout the world is used to produce roofing slates. Slate roofs can last well over 100 years. Nowadays, tiles are produced with similar properties offering a much wider variety of styles and colours although the durability can be around 50% of slate.

Therefore, although a slate roof will require a slightly higher initial investment it will provide longevity.

Yalding Roofing Services offers a comprehensive service from the removal of defective slates and tiles to the instatement of new tiles designed to match and blend with the existing roof.

    Flashings and Leadwork

Lead flashings work to direct the flow of water away from your property and so are used to prevent any moisture from entering your home thus reducing leakage which is turn may cause damp, mould and even result in the decaying of your roof timbers. Yalding Roofing Services offers a variety of services in this area, including chimney aprons and backs, lead flashings for valley and gullies, linings (such as valley gutters and parapets) as required with flat and pitched roof covering – both as part of a remedial process and as a new installation.

We provide installation of Code 3 Step lead to the perimeter base of adjacent walls and chimney stacks, Code 4-5 lead for valley and gullies and Code 6-7 lead for flat roofs.

    Flat Roofing

Yalding Roofing Services has been offering flat roofing solutions in two and three layer ply for over the past 25 years. Created from synthetic polymers, roofs are lightweight and cost effective with fast installation

We will endeavour to find the best solution for both your need and your budget – just ask. All flat roofing projects are finished with drip edges with lead flashing as an option.

    Roof Ventilation

Appropriate roof ventilation prevents condensation and thus avoids the leaking of water through your ceilings (obviously resulting in costly repairs).

Yalding Roofing Services offer a wide range of ventilation options including deepflow vents, tile/slate vents and eaves and soffit vents. Ask us what would be the best solution for you.

    Facias and Soffit Replacement

Fascia and soffits are an important element in terms of the structure of your property. They protect the roof and keep water, condensation and damp out of the home. Although long lasting they do occasionally need replacing in order to continue to protect your home.

Yalding Roofing Services is happy to provide you with more information regarding our replacement service for defective, rotten and decayed facias and soffits.

    Guttering

Blocked and defective guttering can cause serious water damage to your property, possibly resulting in costly repair.

Yalding Roofing Services can assist with cleaning and flushing guttering, undertaking minor repairs or part/full replacement of your guttering in materials appropriate to your home.

    Chimney Stacks and Traditional Brickwork

Eroded pointing is one of the most common issues with chimney stacks which, if left, can lead to serious problems with instability and water ingress. Ageing can result in damaged brickwork, stonework or render and leaks around a chimney stack can affect walls and ceilings in your property and, over time, decay roof timbers resulting in possible collapse.

We can provide a comprehensive chimney service from replacement pointing to a full reinstatement of your unstable chimney stack incorporating traditional brickwork bonds.  See our associated ‘Recent Projects’ section below.

Ask us about our range of traditional brickwork services include Flemish and Stretcher bonds and King and Queen Closure.

    Velux Windows

We offer affordable prices on installation of Velux windows. Please contact us for more information, advice and quotations.

    Additional Services

Yalding Roofing Services will be pleased to assist you with secondary services around your home including fencing, patio laying, block paving and brickwork.

Chimney Rebuild with Decorative Brickwork - Maidstone

This chimney, which required substantial works, was struggling to breath behind the old concrete render.

The existing chimney was removed to approximately half-way in order to find a safe and secure position for rebuilding. It was then rebuilt using traditional soft red stocks. In order to add interest and appeal to the chimney we used yellow stocks in a traditional, decorative manner and added lovely, ornate terracotta chimney pots.

The finished chimney looks amazing - nicely in keeping with the traditional property.

See what our customers are saying about Yalding Roofing Services .......

"We've had an ongoing problem over many years with water ingress in two bedroom ceilings. Previous roofers failed to solve the problem. Graham took a video of what needed to be done and, once agreed, did the job with great professionalism. We now don't dread the bad weather! Two friends recommended him to us so we, in turn, do not hesitate in recommending him too." Dave Kinslow, Chatham, Kent - December 2021

"Graham is a most thoughtful, competent and highly skilled roofer. He takes real pride in his craftsmanship and pays attention to every small detail. We had a range of work done from flaunching and capping chimneys to replacing the low pitched kitchen roof. Retro fitting what was there before was not a straightforward task but Graham was more than up to the challenge and we are so pleased with the aesthetics of the new slate roof. Reliable and highly recommended!" Mr Pledge, Kent - November 2021

"Graham provided an excellent service from start to finish installing a velux window in a very old roof. His knowledge for buildings and building processes shows how passionate he is and this shows in the quality of his work. Have already recommended him to friends and will certainly give him a call when we next need some work done to our house." Carl Melia, Kent - September 2021

He is a very tidy worker keeping everything clean as he works. Graham is professional, keeping me informed at all times with photos to show what is not visible from the ground, he comes up with cost effective solutions to problems.
